In what appeared to be grand gathering of Ndi Awkuzu, at Awkuzu Civic Centre yesterday the 19th of August, 2017 for a Town Hall meeting organised by the Stakeholders for Willie Obiano Re-election Campaign, 2017, ably led by Chief Ekene Enefe, commenced in high spirit. Dr. Jeff Okeke – The National Organising Secretary said the opening prayer as well as moderated the occasion.
This event witnessed the presence of H.E. The Executive Governor of Anambra State – Chief Willie M. Obiano, ably represented by Hon. Tony Nnacheta – The Honourable Commissioner of Information and Strategy, together with some State Executives, the Chairman of all Chairmen – Hon. Dr Uchennia Okafor (A.K.A. Wiper), Hon. Onyeka Ibezim who’s the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Empowerment and Mobilisation, and many other movers and shakers in the politics of Anambra State.
Gov. Obiano outlined the present governments achievements in Awkuzu and environs, including the ongoing projects and those already earmarked to commence soon. He lauded the support Ndi Awkuzu gave him during the just concluded APGA primaries, where they overwhelmingly voted for continuity.
He went on to assure Ndi Awkuzu of more benefits from his administration as he still have a lot in the offing for them and the youths in Awkuzu.
On his part, Chief Ekene Enefe – the National Coordinator, Stakeholders for Willie Obiano Re-election 2017, stressed on the zoning formula/arrangement, emphasizing that it is imperative for the North to complete their tenure after which it would move to another zone.
He went on to encourage the community to nominate major stakeholders within the community that will meet one-on-one with the Governor and table their most pressing need to him.
In his reaction, Hon. Prince Nnamsom Nwafor-Orizu - the National Youth Coordinator, Stakeholders for Willie Obiano Re-election 2017 as well as the S.A. to the Gov on Youth Entrepreneurship, re-emphasized on the zoning formula, stating that it is wise to allow Gov Willie Obiano finish his tenure.
He went on to outline accomplished politicians like: H.E. Dr Alex Ekwueme – former Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, who practices politics without bitterness, H.E. Chukwuemeka Ezife, first class graduate of Harvard University and First Executive Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chukwuma Soludo – a first class Economist and best Central Bank Governor, His Royal Majesty Igwe Dr K. O. N. Orizu CON, Igwe of Nnewi - Life Grand Patron of Anambra State Traditional Ruler Council and the Oldest living King in Igboland, and many other national personalities have emphatically pledged their support for Gov Obiano and the need for the North to complete their tenure.
Hon. Nwafor-Orizu also outlined what he called the “Triple I” which constitute the major qualities any good leader must possess, they are:
He must be an Initiator
He must be an Innovator
He must be an
Indomitable executor.
He declared that Gov Willie Obiano possess all the 'Triple I', and he is capable of leading the state to greater developments in the years to come.
He concluded by reaffirming Youths’ Stakeholders full support in returning the working Governor to office come Nov 18th, and he equally restated his commitment to the development of the state, emphasizing his passion for youth development and desire to carry-on his father’s legacy. He disclosed that out of his father’s sons’, he has chosen to remain in the state and work for her development.
Also speaking at the Town Hall meeting, Hon. Dr. Okafor – Wiper reminded Ndi Awkuzu of the appointments their people have benefitted from Obiano’s administration. He also recalled that most roads constructed by Gov Obiano is named after clergymen, citing the most recently named after Rev. Fr. Tagboo.
There was heavy refreshment after the Town Hall meeting and photo opportunity.
